Thoubal District police have arrested one absconding vehicle lifter on Thursday after he had earlier managed to escape from his house during a police raid conducted on Tuesday as part of an anti vehicle theft drive.
According to police sources, on Thursday at 6.30 am, Ayaz Khan alias AAK ,51, son of late Nazimuddin of Moijing Wangmataba Makha Leikai was arrested during a search at his house in connection with FIR 90(5)2022 Thoubal Police station under section 380/411 IPC.
He was arrested by teams of Thoubal commandos along with a team of Thoubal Police station under the supervision of SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam.

The accused Ayaz Khan had earlier managed to escape from his house during a police raid conducted on Tuesday as part of an Anti-Vehicle Theft drive in which four stolen vehicles were recovered. They were One Black Swiss 125 without registration number,One Black KTM RC Bike with green panel without registration number,One Honda Dio Blue in Colour with registration number MN04B6725 and One Activa Grey in colour, without registration number and partly disassembled.
Initiating a crackdown on vehicle lifters, Manipur Police have launched an Anti Vehicle Theft Cell headed by ADGP (Law and Order) Clay Khongsai and IGP(Z-I) Themthing and a massive hunt is being conducted to nab vehicle lifters.
