Manipur Police on Thursday arrested four drug peddlers at two different places and seized a total of 1.6 kilograms of Heroin powder from their possession.
In the first instance, a team of Imphal West district commandos arrested two drug peddlers from Thangmeiband Watham Leirak, Imphal West on Thursday morning and seized heroin from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as Md Muzamin Hussain, 38, S/o (L) Md Kayamuddin of Khomidok, Heikrumakhong Bazaar and Md Amir Khan, 34, S/o Md Abdul Latif of Mayang Imphal Bengoon Makha Leikai.
Police said that during frisking and checking, the two drug peddlers were detained at Thangmeiband Watham Leirak while they were coming on a Honda Activa bearing registration number MN01AH 9562 from Khoyathong side.
During examination, 28 plastic vials containing heroin powder weighing 34 grams were detected. Two mobile phones along with Rs 1,380 were also seized from their possession.
The arrested person along with the seized heroin have been handed over to Imphal Police station for further necessary action.
Later during the day at 2.35 PM, a team of Churachandpur district police personnel seized 1.26 kilograms of Heroin powder and arrested two women from Khenjang village, Churachandpur district.
The arrested persons have been identified as one Nemgneihoi Haokip, 25, wife of Goumang Zou of Satang Village, Saikul and Nemjahat Haokip, 40, wife of Thangminhao Haokip of Thadou Veng, Singhat presently staying at Zion Veng, Tuibong, Churachandpur.
A case has been registered at Narcotics Affairs of Borders (NAB) for further necessary steps.
