Noney Police under the supervision of SP and OC Noney police station led by ASI Gaisinlung Panmei conducted frisking and checking at Noney Police Station Check Post Gate at Noney and seized 1,100 litre of illicit DIC Liquor around 11.5 pm along National Highway-37 while patrolling on Friday .
Police stated that one Bolero Camper bearing RN No. MN01AA-2291 coming in a suspicious manner was stopped for checking. While checking, 1,100 litres of illicit DIC Liquor worth around Rs 2, 75,000 at local market were detected.
The owner of the liquor has been identified as one Tabitha Riamei ,33, wife of Pouthuilung Kamei of Thiuluan Village, Tamenglong district, Manipur, presently residing near Medical Gate at Happy Villa Tamenglong Ward No. IV, police said.
The seized illicit liquor was destroyed on Saturday by Noney Police team along with the Longmai Bazar Board, Longmai Bazar Youth Cub (LBYC) Noney Peaceland Youth Club (NPYC) and others Areas CSOs leaders in the presence of ASI Gaisinlung Panmei Noney Police Station.
The accused person has been handed over to Noney Police Station for taking up legal action as per the law.
