Man test COVID-19 positive after road mishap, succumbs to injuries

The man was rushed to the hospital by a Medilane Care ambulance. On being tested positive for COVID-19, he was admitted to the Covid ICU of the hospital.

One person, who met with a road mishap on October 25, tested positive for COVID-19 and succumbed to his injuries at Shija Hospitals in Imphal on Wednesday.

The road accident victim was identified as one Longjam Sushilkumar, 32, resident of Nambol Mongjing Leikai. The car he was driving (Hyundai Venue- MN06LB4338) met with an accident on October 25.

The man was rushed to the hospital by a Medilane Care ambulance. On being tested positive for COVID-19, he was admitted to the Covid ICU of the hospital.

The female doctor, who had administered first aid to Sushilkumar at the spot where the accident took place, was put under Contact Tracing following the orders issued by SP Imphal West. It was confirmed that she was not wearing a face mask when she rushed to administer the first aid.

The others injured in the mishap, including Takhellambam Gunendrajit and Takhellambam Dinajit, were treated at RIMS.
