Lup felicitates Cachar-based CSO for aid to displaced people

Three Brothers of the Monitoring Committee from Lakhipur, Cachar district in Assam arrived in Manipur on June 7 after receiving contributions from 40 local clubs in Cachar, for the displaced in Manipur.

The Heirangoithong Apunba Lup extended its gratitude to the Three Brothers of the Monitoring Committee from Lakhipur, Cachar district in Assam for their assistance to the displaced people residing in the valley region of Manipur. 

The felicitation ceremony took place at the premises of the Social Workers Club in Imphal West on Thursday night.

The felicitated members of the committee, including chairman Khaidem Kanta, and two other members Laishram Saratkumar and Ngangom Brajakeshor, were honoured for their efforts.

Speaking on the occasion, Khaidem Kanta expressed that the Meetei community in Cachar cannot forget Manipur, which they consider their motherland. 

The committee arrived in Manipur on June 7 after receiving contributions from 40 local clubs in Cachar, he said, adding that their purpose was to provide aid to the displaced Meetei people.

He also informed that a relief camp had been set up in Cachar to accommodate around 100 individuals who were evacuated from Mizoram. 

The chairman also assured the people of Manipur that the Meetei community in Cachar would continue to offer all possible assistance to the people of Manipur.
