Manipur BJP's lone woman MLA Nemcha Kipgen on Saturday launched a ‘Lotus Campaign’ for the forthcoming state assembly election at Kangpokpi assembly constituency at Kangpokpi town with members of BJP Kangpokpi Mandal and party workers.
She kicked off the campaign by launching the lotus symbol and prayed after reverend father Janggin Chongloi dedicated it while handing over it to all the block leaders in the presence of the BJP Kangpokpi Mandal Tingnei Lhouvum.
The MLA also printed the lotus symbol on her residential compound wall at Kangpokpi as a mark of launching the Lotus Campaign.
Addressing the party workers of her assembly constituency, MLA Nemcha Kipgen said, “Some years ago, the people never believed that Lotus will bloom in the hill districts but we made it possible in the 2017 general assembly election and it started blooming prosperously in Kangpokpi assembly constituency.”
Exhorting the party workers to sincerely work for the lotus to bloom again in Kangpokpi assembly constituency, she motivated them to reach out to the unreached.
She also distributed free bags printed with the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, and the MLA herself to all the FPS agents during a joint meeting discussing the proper distribution of PMGKAY.
The MLA had a discussion with the FPS agents under Kangpokpi assembly constituency in the presence of the district supply officer and cautioned that if any agents are found indulging in malpractice while distributing the free rice provided by Prime Minister under PMGKAY, stringent action will take taken even up to the extent of terminating the FPS agent.
