Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Third round of training for polling personnel begins in Manipur

Polling officials drafted in for poll duty in Tipaimukh assembly segment, including the reserved pool, underwent the training.

In the run up to Phase 2 of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 slated to be held on April 26, District Election Office, Pherzawl organized the third and final round training for polling personnel at Churachandpur Govt College on Saturday.

Polling officials drafted in for poll duty in Tipaimukh assembly segment, including the reserved pool, underwent the training.

The final round of training covered statutory and non-statutory form filling exercises, awareness on Poll Star and e-Traccar mobile apps, webcasting and briefing on EVM/VVPAT handling by ECIL engineers. Similar training programme for polling officials to be deployed in the Thanlon assembly segment is scheduled on Monday.

Post completion of all training programmes, District Election Office, Pherzawl will commence dispatch of polling parties to their designated stations in batches over several days ahead of poll day.

Additionally, elaborate preparations are at final stage for airlifting polling parties assigned for poll duty at remote polling stations not conducive to road communication.

Thanlon and Tipaimukh, the two assembly segments in Pherzawl district fall in Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency. All the 78 polling stations within the two assembly segments will go to polls in the second phase on April 26.

Meanwhile, the third round of polling personnel concluded today at four locations namely DRDA Conference Hall, Multi-purpose Hall, Training Hall-1, and Training Hall-2, Senapati.
The polling personnel were trained on handling EVM (Electronic Voting Machine), VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trial) for smooth conduct of elections. Later on, all the PROs were given hands- on training on DSNL Pollstar.

The third round of training for polling personnel was conducted under the supervision of SDO Senapati S Lunguiba Thangal, SDO Paomata Reikimdaar Khaling, project director, DRDA Puny Pao Ronald, ADC, Senapati Adahrii Maheo,DFO, Senapati, Shanngam S, AC to DC, Senapati, Sheveine, SDC, Senapati Pf Lophro and SDC/BO, Senapati Ngaonii Panii.

In the meantime, altogether 66 micro observers were also trained under the supervision of ADM Mao/ ARO, II Outer Manipur (ST) PC 48- Mao (ST) Ningreingam Leisan at DC Conference Hall, Senapati.
