Lilong fire victim succumbs

The deceased, Md Abo, 48, and his father Muhammad Rahmatullah were injured in a fire that completely burned down a wooden house and a grocery store at Lilong Lou-Manga in Thoubal district at around 4.30 pm on Sunday.

Md Abo, a fire victim who was being treated at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal after sustaining burn injuries in a house fire at Lilong Lou-Manga in Thoubal succumbed around 8.30 pm on Monday.

The deceased, Md Abo, 48, and his father Muhammad Rahmatullah were injured in a fire that completely burned down a wooden house and a grocery store at Lilong Lou-Manga in Thoubal district at around 4.30 pm on Sunday.

According to sources, the cooking gas cylinder kept in the kitchen of the house exploded and caused the fire. The explosion injured the owner Bogi mayum Muhammad Rahmatullah and Md Abo. Both of them were admitted to Noor Hospital in Lilong and further referred to RIMS Hospital as their conditions were critical. Properties worth more than Rs 10 lakh were destroyed by the fire.
