Lawyers’ body resolves to alleviate people’s plights

AILU-MSC held a conference at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal West district on Sunday wherein various resolutions were adopted unanimously, stated a release.

The All India Lawyers Union (AILU) Manipur State Unit on Tuesday said that the unit has resolved to continue taking up necessary actions to alleviate the problems faced by the people of Manipur due to the ongoing unrest in the state.

AILU-MSC held a conference at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal West district on Sunday wherein various resolutions were adopted unanimously, stated a release.

Appropriate actions for proper implementation of the interim orders issued by the Supreme Court India, highlighting the continuing problems faced by the people of Manipur in the Supreme Court of India or other forums and extending all necessary legal assistance to the people were among the resolutions taken, it stated.

Attendees also discussed the actions taken up by AILU Manipur State Secretariat so far regarding the complaint filed with the Manipur Human Rights Commission and the Case filed in the Supreme Court of India for the purpose of restoring the law and order in the state of Manipur and preventing widespread abuse of the lives and liberty of the people of the state in the aftermath of the ongoing unrest, it asserted.

Discussions on legal assistance given by AILU-MSC to the affected victims were also held, it mentioned. It further said that 21 members of the State Committee for the term 2023-2025 were unanimously elected during the conference.
