Law students started visiting houses as part of the four-day ‘Empowerment of Citizens through Legal Awareness and Outreach’ door- to-door mobile campaign for Imphal West which started on Wednesday by District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West.
SDO Patsoi Samson Huidrom flagged off the Manipur State Legal Services Authority Utility Van from his office in the presence of the staff of SDO Patsoi, representatives of District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West and law students.
The van along with law students will visit each house in the Imphal West subdivision to spread the awareness and to empower the citizens through awareness and outreach campaigns as part of the Pan India Campaign.
District Legal Services Authority, Chandel under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority observed the ‘National Legal Services Day’ as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign at Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Complex, Chandel district.
The programme was participated by the functionaries of District Legal Services Authority, Chandel and staff of the CJM Court, Chandel.
Certificates and mementos were handed out to the best Panel Lawyer and Best Para Legal Volunteer of the district. Certificates of appreciation were also handed out to the other functionaries of the Institution.
Later, the office in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Churachandpur and District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal jointly organized legal awareness and interaction programmes at the Leikol Observation Home for Girls, Langthabal and ABCEDO Observation Home for boys, Samaram.
Keishang Kopham, Panel Lawyer, DLSA, Chandel was the resource person of the programme. He sensitized them on the Free Legal Services provided by the Legal Services Institution and encouraged them on availing the various schemes provided by the authority
