Land sold after ownership change

MPCM president urged the authorities concerned to take necessary legal action against those involved in changing the name of the land and illegal buyers of the land.

The Meitei Pangal Council, Manipur (MPCM) has alleged that one Md Ibocha changed ownership of a land in conspiracy with revenue official staff and then sold it off.

MPCM president Haji Arafat Ali told the media on Tuesday at its head office located at Golapati Hatta in Imphal East that Patta number 43 covered by CS Dag No 22 with an area of 0.34 acres, village number 28, Porompat in Imphal East, Manipur is registered under Tolchou.

He alleged that the said land was allegedly sold after changing the ownership of the land by one Md Ibochou, son of late Nijamuddin in conspiracy with some officials of the revenue department.

Stating that the said land was given to Sanayai, wife of late Rashid Ali, who is the grand daughter-in-law of Tolchou, he urged the authority concerned to review Misc case number 280/SDC/P 25/04/2014 issued vide number PT number 813/SDC/I/E dated 22/11/2018 copied from jamabandi.

Arafat Ali also cautioned those who were involved in the activity to meet MPCM within 10 days. Necessary steps, including agitation, will be initiated if they fail to meet the deadline, he warned.
