Kuki Students’ Organisation felicitates MLAs from the hills

President of KSO GHQ, Sang Vaiphei, in his keynote address, elaborated on the urgent need for the unification of the tribals and preparedness for the tribal in future.

The Kuki Students’ Organisation – General HeadQuarters (KSO Ghq) on Friday felicitated the elected representatives from the hills in the recently held 12th Manipur State Assembly Election 2022 at Sharon Park, Churachandpur.

The event was attended by MLA of Henglep AC Mr Letzamang Haokip; MLA of Singhat AC Mr Chinlunthang and MLA of Nungba AC Mr Dingalung @ Dipu Gangmei, who is well known for defeating Mr Gaikhanngam of the Congress Party. It was also attended by leaders from various civil society organisations and apex student bodiesof the hills such as ANSAM, ATSUM besides well-wishers.

After the speech, the president and his team felicitated the three tribal MLAs with a memento each stating that the occasion is a milestone for the unification of Manipur’s tribals.

MLA Chinlunthang spoke about preserving tribals’ rights and the need to address the grievances of the tribals in the Assembly saying that, as far as his ability is concerned, he will always stand for the tribals’ causes.

MLA Dimgalung Gangmei expressed they need to have a good rapport with the various civil societies in voicing their grievances and as they are new and young representatives.

“We hope the public too will render their hands without which we cannot achieve our goals and aspirations for the tribal status” MLA Letzamang Haokip said. However, first and foremost there should be peace and tranquillity among the tribals without which developmental work would be a problem.
