KSA to resume work for welfare students

On the occasion of the 16th foundation day of the student's body, the president on behalf of KSA expressed gratitude to the people of Manipur for lending support in the various welfare activities taken up by KSA in the past years.

Witnessing the ebbing of the Covid pandemic, the Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) is all set to resume working for the welfare of the students’ community, said president of KSA Sukham Bidyananda on Saturday.

He was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the observance of 16th foundation day of KSA on Saturday at the Maharaja Chandrakirti Auditorium in Imphal East.

Bidyananda also expressed the need to maintain unity among all the ethnic groups settled in Manipur and work together with the ideology of “one Kangleipak.” He further mooted for inclusion of the leaders of Manipur who work for the unity of Manipur, in the school syllabus to spread the ideology of oneness among the youths.

On the occasion of the 16th foundation day of the student's body, the president on behalf of KSA expressed gratitude to the people of Manipur for lending support in the various welfare activities taken up by KSA in the past years.

Delivering the keynote address of the observance, secretary general of KSA Johnson Thiyam highlighted the various roles taken up by the student's body for the welfare of the society in every social and student related issues in Manipur.

Assuring that KSA will and always stand for the people of Manipur with its ideology of making a better and egalitarian society, he sought the support of the public in various welfare activities to be taken up by KSA. 

The function was also attended by national and international awardee H Ibotombi Khuman as chief guest, former presidents of KSA Thongam Ajitkanta, Yumnam Pradipkumar, Moirangthem Laxman and Ningthoujam Chetan as guests of honour.

Small tokens of love were also distributed to the leaders of various civil groups and to the media persons for their role in shaping the society, during the occasion of its foundation day.

Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA), Jiribam District Council also observed the event at the Auditorium Hall of Jiribam Municipality Complex at Babupara, Jiribam district.

The event was attended by sub divisional officer, Jiribam district S Indrajit Singh as the chief guest; president of KSA Ch Achou Singh as the president of the occasion; principal of Jiri College Ch Randhoni Devi; president of Ima Women Association of Kangleipak (JIMWAK) Th Jini Devi; advisor of KSA L Surendra Kumar; former president of KSA L Bonson Singh as the guests of honour.

The chief guest lit the ceremonial candles and commenced the event, followed by a district level open quiz competition.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest S Indrajit said the students should pursue their education with a goal, rather than going aimlessly. Guest of honour Ch Randhoni Devi said that due to problems such as unstable networks and other technological issues, online classes have been a huge difficulty for the students of Jiribam amid the Covid-19 pandemic. With the diminishing decline of the COVID-19 cases in Jiribam, she reckoned that physical class could be commenced. The programme concluded with the prize distribution of the winners of the quiz competition.
