KIM alleges ‘armed aggression’ in Moreh

Sit-in-protest held in Churachandpur on Wednesday against the acts of attacks on Kuki-Zo civilians in Moreh.

The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has alleged state forces of indiscriminately attacking and targeting Kuki-Zo civilians in Moreh.

In a release by Department of Information & Publicity, KIM, it stated that the attacks have resulted in destruction and arson of Canaan Veng and Phaicham Veng including a Church and Mount Moreh Public School, Bethsda Academy Middle School and Dr Colvin Academy.

It said, KIM is dismayed by the response of Colonel Rahul Jain, CO 5th AR, and his subordinate Major Aman who authorised the use of 2-inch mortar bombs and mowing down a woman with a Casspir MPV resulting in serious injuries.

The body demanded replacement of Colonel Rahul Jain, CO 5 AR in Moreh.

Our Churachandpur Correspondent added that a sit-in-protest was held in Churachandpur on Wednesday against the acts of attacks on Kuki-Zo civilians in Moreh.

The protest at the Wall of Remembrance, Tuibong in Churachandpur was organised by ITLF Women Wing in collaboration with the Kuki Women Organisations for Human Right.

The sit-in-protest was to express solidarity with the Kuki-Zo people of Moreh.

KWOHR chairperson Ngahneikim spoke on the atrocities committed by the so-called Manipur commandos.

A memorandum signed by the chairperson of KWOHR and Convenor of ITLF , Women’s wing and addressed to the Chairperson of the National Commission for Human Rights, India was submitted to the DC of Churachandpur.
