Keithel street converted into plots, alleges association

The JNIMS Mamang Awang Leikai Plot Owners Development Association on Sunday appealed to the state government to look into the matter of alleged selling of the surrounding street of JNIMS Mamang Leikai Keithel in Imphal East as land plot by the Kongpal Development Committee.

As the streets are converted into plots, heavy vehicles are unable to enter the street thereby causing apprehension that fire brigade might not be able to enter the location in case of any emergency, said vice-president of the association, Laishram Luxman, while speaking to the media in Imphal.

He said, considering the issue faced by the locals, it is the need of the hour to revive the area by evicting the plots like before for the convenience of the public. In this regard, a complaint had also been lodged at the SDO Porompat on August 4 for his kind action, he added.
