Karate judge Soibam Bindeshori Chanu receives medal for inclusion in India Book of Records

Karate judge Soibam Bindeshori Chanu was presented with a medal and certificate of the Indian Book of Records by Manipur Governor La Ganesan at the Raj Bhavan in Imphal on Friday.

A statement stated that on an intimation received from Newspapers Association of India executive secretary Monojit Singha, Soibam Bindeshori Chanu along with her parents and teacher visited the Raj Bhavan at 11 am on Friday. She was presented with the medal and certificate for inclusion in the India Book of Records by Governor La Ganesan, it added.

Soibam Bindeshori Chanu, daughter of Soibam Kuber Singh and Yaima Devi, is the instructor at International Shito Ryu Karate Federation, India, Patsoi Dojo at Patsoi part I under the guidance of Mutum Bankim Singh, it continued.

It mentioned that Bindeshori is also a member of the Referee Commission of Manipur Amateur Karate Do Association and North East Zone, and vice chairman of Women’s Commission for Karate India Organisation. “She holds the Referee ‘A’ of the National Federation and 6th Dan of the World Karate Federation,” it added.
