Speaking on the occasion, state BJP president A Sharda Devi said in the previous year before the coming of BJP led government, people used to hesitate in casting their votes as she was told that they do not trust any politician. She questioned what is the point of casting votes if the representatives do not take up any developmental works and welfare.

With the coming of the BJP led government, the people have started knowing about their voting rights due to the development and welfare activities undertaken by the present government, she added.

Thangjam Arunkumar, who is also an entrepreneur, told the media that he decided to become an intending candidate with support from the people of Wangkhei assembly constituency.
