A team of Imphal West commando seized a large quantity of IMFL from a shop at Lamphel Sana Keithel, Thangmeiband Khondram Selungba Leikai, Imphal West and detained the shop owner around 6.30 pm on Monday.
According to sources, the team of Imphal West commando raided shop ‘People Store’ at Lamphel Sana Keithel, Thangmeiband Khondram Selungba Leikai and detained the shop owner namely Salam Sancha alias Deepak Singh, 30, son of S Santosh Singh from Tangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai.
During the raid, the team seized six bottles of 750 ml Gentlemen Club, nine bottles of 375 ml Iconic White, 14 bottles of 375 ml McDowells, 38 bottles of 180 ml Sterling Reserve B7, eight bottles of 360 ml Oppa, six bottles of 750 ml Blenders Pride, two bottles of 750 ml Vintage, two bottles of 750 Kusum Beer, 11 bottles of 355 ml Corona Extra Beer, 36 cans of 500 ml Kingfisher Beer, 12 bottles of 500 ml Old Monk beers and 12 bottles of 500 ml Tuborg Beer, it informed.
The detainee along with the seized items will be handed over to the Excise department, Lamphelpat for further necessary action, it added.
Meanwhile, a team of Patsoi police station also seized foreign made liquors from a musical and car show event held at HVS campus on Sunday as a preventive measure.
A total of 346 cane beers, 11 Sterling (750ml) bottles, 26 Sterling (375ml) bottles, 10 BP (750ml) bottles, six MacDowell (750ml) bottles, one Royal Stag (750ml) bottle, two Royal stag (375ml) bottles and 24 Oppa (360ml) bottles were seized during the event and will be handed over to the excise department.
