Under the supervision of DFO of Thoubal Forest Division, Debala Leiphrakpam, a combined team of Thoubal Forest Range staff and Thoubal police conducted a drive on Monday in which four illegally built huts were destroyed and bird trapping nets were seized.

The drive was carried out at the biodiversity conservation working circle on the backside of Tangjeng FCI Godown, led by RO of Thoubal Range, S Samungou along with the staff of Yairipok Beat Office, Sikhong and Heirok Beat Office. The combined team continued the drive at the areas of Kiyam Leitanpok, ITI Tharaolok, Tentha Maning Ching, Moijing, Lipokpi and Arapti; and three more bird trapping nets were seized from the area of Kiyam Leitanpok.

Samungou expressed his gratitude to the police personnel for helping the staff of Thoubal Range in conducting the drive effectively. He also appealed to the public not to continue any illegal activities in the forest areas and cooperate with the duties of the Forest department.
