IED blast at former MLA’s residence in Imphal

A low intensity blast took place at the residence of former MLA Kh Loken in Imphal around 8:10 pm Thursday.

A suspected IED exploded at the gate of former Sagolband constituency MLA Khwairakpam Loken’s residence at Sega Road Takhellambam Leikai, Imphal late Thursday.

Sources said that the low intensity blast took place around 8:10 pm. However, there were no human casualties and no major damages due to the blast.

Imphal West Additional SP (Ops) Moirangthem Amit, Imphal West district commando OC P Achouba and Imphal police station OC N Ingocha inspected the blast site.

The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
