The Mid Day Meal Workers’ Union Manipur appealed to the state government to hand out the honorariums of the mid-day meal workers before the Ningol Chakouba festival.

A release issued by the union minister stated that as the festival of Ningol Chakouba approaches, the union appeals to the authorities to provide the mid-day meal workers with their honorarium which had been due for 11 months since Septembe, 2020. 

Condemning the government for allegedly undermining the value of the mid-day meal workers, it urged the education ministry and authorities concerned to acknowledge the onset of the New Education Policy 2020 and take up necessary measures for the workers.
