Governor La Ganesan calls upon people in Manipur to make use of government schemes

The present government in the Centre and the state is committed to development in all aspects, the Manipur Governor said

Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Friday called upon the people of Manipur to make use of all the government’s schemes, policies and programmes which are introduced for the welfare of citizens.

The governor was addressing an interaction programme of government’s representatives, officials, CSOs and villagers under Keirao Bitra Sub-Division, Imphal East at Thiyam Konjil in Imphal East. It was organised by the District Administration, Imphal East.

Stating that such an interaction programme is a precious platform where the genuine voice and grievances of the public can be heard and address the concerned authorities, he termed the interaction as “Janata Darbar (People’s Court).”

Reiterating that the present government in the Centre and the state is committed for all round development in all aspects giving its maximum effort, Ganesan urged the public to give its support to the government in taking up various welfare projects.

Overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic is the sign of the government’s commitment to take care of the public health, the governor said and called on the public to get fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine to eradicate COVID-19.

During the interaction, various CSOs and villagers raised various grievances faced by the people under the sub-division especially lack of proper health care system, lack of teachers, untimely availability of fertilizers and poor road connectivity.

The governor assured to forward the complaints to chief minister Biren Singh to take up all possible steps in the larger interest of the people in the area.

Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East, Khumanthem Diana, while giving the keynote address, said that Keirao Bitra Sub-division covers an area of 122 square km having a total of 14,196 households with a population of 1,20,298. It has 36 revenue villages, 11 Gram Panchayats and 124 schools including both government and private, she added.

The function was also attended by Keirao MLA L Rameshwor Meetei and SDO of Keirao Bitra Sub-division Karam Uma Devi.
