It emphasised the significance of Mera Hou Chongba stating that the festival demonstrates age-old unity, integrity and strengthens brotherhood among various ethnic communities of the state.

It recalled the ancient history of the state associated with the festival. It stressed the need to celebrate the festival in its true spirit as well as to preserve and maintain the sanctity of the festival. It further urged all to remember the paths paved by the ancestors and strive to earn their sacrifices for freedom.

It went on to say that Manipur is a blend of various cultures and traditions of many ethnic tribes. Wishing that peace prevails among the people, it further appealed to respect the ancient history, customs and tradition of the state.
