Farmers training programme held

As part of the programme, UCM distributed 100 bags of Urea and Rabi crops to the farmers.

'Farmers Training Programme on Rejuvenation of Farm Economy and Distribution of Urea and Rabi Crops' was jointly organised by United Committee Manipur (UCM) and Agriculture department at Yairipok Bishnunaha on Monday.

In a release, UCM stated that the event commenced with a keynote address by UCM general secretary Ng Deba Meetei.

He appealed for the introduction of a new farm economy to boost the paddy production in the state, in order to achieve food independence and promote healthier work-culture in the state.

As part of the programme, UCM distributed 100 bags of Urea and Rabi crops to the farmers.

The event was attended by Wangkhem Zilla Parishad member Kh Sobha Singh as the chief guest, UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam as the president, Angtha Gram Panchayat pradhan Th Manihal as the guest of honour, UCM Yairipok Unit advisor Ibotombi Khumancha as dais member and Likmabam Gorbachov as the resource person.

Speaking at the event, UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam highlighted the importance of honesty of the 60 MLAs and 12 ministers of the state while performing their respective duty, in order to achieve food independence.
