Exhibition showcases products made by domestic workers in Churachandpur

The project is being implemented in 15 cities across six states in Northeast India, including Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram, the organisers said.

An exhibition of products made by domestic workers was held at Hiangtam Lamka in Churachandpur on Tuesday.

The event was organised by the Manipur Domestic Workers Movement Organisation (MDWMO) under the sponsorship of Ferrendo Domestic Workers Alliance, Imphal City,

Project coordinator sister Regina Marrem said over 500 domestic workers in the state of Manipur, have been making different varieties of cakes, pickles, candles, sauce etc since the time pandemic hit the country.

The project is being implemented in 15 cities across six states in Northeast India, including Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram. The items were displayed at the expo where they were also sold to the public.
