Even family won’t be spared in drug-related cases, Minister Susindro clarifies

One Loyangamba was arrested by Delhi police along with 50 kg of drugs, who is said to be the step-younger brother of Minister Susindro.

Minister Leishangthem Susindro Meitei alias Yaima on Saturday said that he will not spare any individual, even family or relatives, if they are found involved in drug-related cases and are against the ‘War on Drugs’ campaign.

Addressing the media at his residence in Khurai Sajor Leikai, Imphal East, the minister spoke of the viral social media post uploaded by an account holder named as Phajaton Chanu. In the viral post, it is mentioned that one Loyangamba was arrested by Delhi police along with 50 kg of drugs, who is said to be the step-younger brother of Minister Susindro.

The minister said the post was uploaded to defame his political career and added that the arrested person might be his step brother but that he does not have any close relation with him for decades now.

In connection with the social media post, the minister said he filed an FIR with the Cyber Crime Police Station. However, no traces have been found regarding the information of the account holder named as ‘Phajaton Chanu’, he added.

He further said any person found involved with drug-related cases will not be spared, even if they are his family or relatives.

Susindro further appealed to the people to support the ‘War on Drugs’ in order to root out drugs from the state.
