Elect political leaders who understand tribal issues: AMTU

Being apolitical (non-political) tribal issue-based organisation, AMTU urged the tribal citizens not to distinguish between political parties, but the candidates on the basis of tribal political issues.

All Manipur Tibal Union (AMTU) on Friday appealed to all tribal citizens of Manipur hill districts to elect only those political leaders who are knowledgeable about tribal issues, in ensuing Manipur Legislative Assembly election on February 27 and March 3.

The Manipur tribal people have political issues of MLR/LR 1960/62 read with provision 1975/76, covering of all the jungles of Manipur hill districts under the Manipur Forest Department as per the Manipur High Court decree 2018 and ADC Bill 2021, AMTU said in a release.
