A team of Irilbung police has arrested a drug dealer near the electric tower of Kiyamgei Muslim Makha Leikai, Keirao Bitra, Imphal East, police said.
The police said the arrested person has been identified as one Md Amir Khan, 27, son of Md Abdul Samad of Kiyamgei Muslim Makha Leikai, Keirao Bitra, Imphal East District.
The drug dealer was arrested while he was selling drugs to some drug users near the electric tower of his residence at around 11 pm on Saturday.
He was detained and during verification in the presence of duty magistrate he identified himself as Amir and on further search, 35 plastic vials containing suspected heroin powder weighing around 7 grams (without the weight of plastic vials) were seized from his possession.
He was arrested on the spot and the suspected heroin powder seized. A case has been registered at Irilbung police station under NDPS Act for further investigation.
