Rotary Club of Imphal celebrated the 117 th Anniversary of the Rotary Club Foundation Day on Wednesday – February 23 with a blood donation camp, and appealed to all in Manipur to donate blood to save lives.
“On this world Rotary Day, we can celebrate the achievements and successes of all the Rotarians and the extended Rotary family around the world who do good things for the community," Yogesh Kashliwal, Secretary of the club said, while speaking on the occasion.
He appealed all to donate blood voluntarily and help save precious lives. He also appealed all to follow Covid-19 SoPs and take Covid vaccine “to protect ourselves, our families and our society”.
Rotary Club of Imphal organised the Rotary Blood Donation Camp on Wednesday jointly with the Rotaract Club of Imphal and Life Savers Manipur at JNIMS, Imphal as a part of the observation of 117th Rotary Day.
A total of about 34 units of blood were donated during the said programme. Gift items, Rotary caps, Certificates and snacks were distributed to all voluntary blood donors. It was on this day, February 23, 1905, the first ever Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Chicago was founded, the Rotary Club Imphal said in a release.
