President BJP Sagolband Mandal H Ruhikanta Sharma on Friday appealed to the people not to spread fake news regarding the announcement of BJP tickets for the coming Manipur Legislative assembly election.

Ruhikanta told the media at its mandal office located at Sega Road Takhellambam Leikai, Imphal West that the people are circulating fake news in social media regarding the list of BJP candidates for the coming election.

In the last few days, several fake lists of candidates have been circulated on social media and the people are eager to read the BJP candidates list. Being a double engine government, there are more than three-four BJP intending candidates for each and every assembly constituency. Since the last two-three days, circulation of such fake lists of BJP candidates has been increasing in social media. Even one such list with ‘Bharatiya Janata Party central office’ as header and signed by National General secretary and headquarter in charge, Arun Singh was also seen circulated in social media, he said.

Ruhikanta further said that many people came to enquire at the mandal office after seeing such fake news; however, the lists were found to be fake after verification with the state BJP office. He further appealed to the people not to spread such sensitive news as it could lead to unwanted issues.

BJP Sagolband Mandal trusts the state and national BJP leaders that the BJP tickets will be provided to the rightful intending candidates, he added.
