Legal Aid Clinic, Kiyam Leitanpok in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Thoubal on Saturday organised a Legal Awareness Webinar Quiz as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Pan India Awareness and outreach campaign on the topic ‘Drug abuse and rehabilitation, a legal perspective’.

A release by DLSA stated in the event participated by PLVs, civil bodies and locals of Kiyam Leitanpok. Secretary in charge of DLSA, Thoubal A Shanta Devi delivered the keynote speech and summarised the roles and functions of legal services institutions to make the people aware of the different ways to deal with the problem of drug abuse.

Speaking on the occasion as resource person, advocate, panel lawyer, MASLSA B Supriya Devi elaborated on the important provisions of the primary act ‘ND and PS Act, 1985’, it added. Recounting her experience in different cases, the legal rights of the drug abusers, punishments and how to proceed with the process of rehabilitation, she also interacted with the participants in a 'question and answer' session, it added.
