Co-opted member Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Seram Neken on Sunday raised concerns that discrimination of women is one of the major issues in Thongju assembly constituency followed by corruption related to recruitment of different government departments.
He was speaking to the media during a flagging off ceremony of a vehicle rally at Akampat ground on Sunday.
He said the educated youths of Thongju assembly constituency had been facing issues while taking part in the recruitment of different posts in several government departments. Therefore, many unemployed educated youths of the assembly constituency have been badly demoralised, he said.
One of the major issues ailing the assembly constituency is discrimination of women, he maintained and appealed to stop the discrimination. Without empowering women, a society cannot develop, he said.
