Detained villagers of Konsakhul rescued

Villagers of Leilon Vaiphei village reportedly detained two villagers of KonsaKhul, Kangpokpi district under Leimakhong Police Station.

Villagers of Leilon Vaiphei village reportedly detained two villagers of KonsaKhul, Kangpokpi district under Leimakhong Police Station and destroyed a JCB kept for use in the developmental works of the village on Sunday night around 8 pm.

Villagers of Konsakhul use the route through Leilon Vaiphei village to reach their village through Leimakhong.

Those detained have been identified as Ch Rocky (34), son of (L) Achum and D Lunggenbou (46), son of D Dirangbou. Leimakhong Police personnel rescued them on Monday afternoon and handed them over to their village.

JCB driver Thoudam Edal (46), son of Ganga Singh from Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai was released by the villagers of Leilon Vaiphei village the same night.

It may be mentioned that Leilon Vaiphei village was formerly known as "Nungyungbi" where the Liangmei community resides.
