Dengue cases continue to rise in Manipur's border town Moreh

SMO, DMO Tengnoupal meet with CSOs leaders and urged all to take preventive measures as the total number of dengue cases in Moreh town reached 109 as of August 23.

As the number of dengue cases continue to increase in the border town of Moreh in Tengnoupal district, Manipur, the State Malaria Officer (SMO) and District Malaria Officer (DMO) of the District on Wednesday visited Moreh and interacted with various CSOs leaders of the town.

Tengnoupal DMO Dr Y Manibushn said that the Sub district hospital Moreh has been taking up stern measures to control the spread of the disease, but the number of dengue cases continues to rise.

"Doctors alone cannot control the spread of the disease. Everyone, including the CSOs leaders should take up preventive measures to control the spread of Dengue, the DMO said while appealing to the public leaders to give cooperation to the staff and doctor of the hospital. 

The DMO team will also be meeting with other CSOs leaders of the town, he continued.

It may be mentioned that, the total number of dengue cases in the town as of August 23 is 109, including four active cases at Moreh Hospital.

The meeting was attended by SMO Dr AR Chishpi, Tengnoupal DMO Dr Y Manibushn, state IEC consultant N Gopakishor, Tengnoupal MTS T Saka Maring, Tengnoupal MPW S Nabakanta along with MCM president secretary and other local club leaders of Meetei leikais.

Later, the team also met with leaders of Hill Tribal Council Moreh, Tamil Sangam Moreh, Manipuri Muslim Council Moreh and All Community Devt Organisation Moreh (ACODOM).
