DC Transfer: KSO threatens to launch stir

Since the formation of Tengnoupal district in 2016, the state government has posted nine DCs in the district so far. Such frequent transfer and posting of DCs has become a hindrance in the development of the district, the KSO stated.

The Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Tengnoupal district on Friday demanded revocation of the transfer order of the Tengnoupal DC issued on May 31 or come to an agreement with CSOs of Tengnoupal district within two days.

Failing to address the demand within two days will lead to KSO launching various forms of agitations, including blocking of Moreh-Imphal road, from 6 am of Monday indefinitely till the demands are met, KSO, Tengnoupal district stated in a release.

Since the formation of Tengnoupal district in 2016, the state government has posted nine DCs in the district so far. Such frequent transfer and posting of DCs has become a hindrance in the development of the district, it stated.

It further stated that the matter has been apprised to Governor La Ganesan in the form of memorandum during his maiden visit to the district on October 25, 2021.

The same has been highlighted to the government and its representatives on various occasions and most recently to the Health minister during his presence as chief guest on May 31 in a function held at Tengnoupal Community Hall by Kuki Chief Association (KCA) and other CSO, it added. 

It further stated that despite repeated requests and memorandum, the state government issued an order of transfer and posting on the same day, i.e. May 31 midnight.
