D Gangmei is BJP intending candidate from 54 Nungba AC

The resignation of D Gangmei (Dinganglung Gangmei alias Dipu Gangmei) as member of the Indian Administrative Service has been accepted with effect from November 11, 2021.

D Gangmei, who resigned as member of the Indian Administrative Service, is an BJP intending candidate for the coming state legislative assembly election from 54 Nungba (ST) assembly constituency, where present Congress Working Committee member Gaikhangam is the sitting MLA.

The resignation of D Gangmei (Dinganglung Gangmei alias Dipu Gangmei) as member of the Indian Administrative Service has been accepted with effect from November 11, 2021.

A recent order by the Governor of Manipur, dated January 7, 2022 had appointed D Gangmei, IAS, as the new Joint Secretary (RD & PR) from his previous post of DC, Kakching.

In a government notification issued on Tuesday signed by deputy secretary, Government of India, Manmeet Kaur mentioned that the intervening period i.e. from November 15, 2021 to date of issue of the notification shall be treated as ‘dies-non’.

In the 2017 state legislative assembly election, Gaikhangam won the election with a Indian National Congress (INC) ticket by securing 10,255 votes. The recent BJP candidate who was the nearest rival of the assembly constituency secured 5,108 votes.
