Stating about the relentless increase of pre-poll violence particularly in Heirok and Andro, Devbrata said that despite the state government having imposed CrPC 144 in the said areas, election-related violence still continues. The government should investigate the case at the earliest and deploy adequate security forces to contain the violence otherwise such activities may occur in other places as well.

The MPCC vice-president also drew the attention of the government on an alleged attack against a Congress intending candidate by a team of some other political parties. He further appealed to Chief Minister N Biren, who is also the home minister, to take serious note in maintaining law and order situation in the state and take up stringent action to control the pre-poll violence effectively.
