The Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) on Saturday informed the people and the candidates appearing in the higher secondary examination that anyone involved in using any unfair means in the examination will be punished aptly.
A notification issued by COHSEM secretary Ch Biren Singh stated that the candidates shall appear the examination on the date and time as per the programme notified and at the allotted examination centre only.
Candidates found copying from printed/ manuscript/lose sheet/ book/ writing or putting name or signature or any other marks/ signs in the answer book which may disclose the identity of the candidate, possession of books, notes, scribbling and non-submission of answer scripts shall deem to have used unfair means, as such their candidature shall be cancelled, it informed.
The candidate found carrying books in the examination hall, any other type of misconduct of a serious nature such as physical assault, intimidation to the SO/ OC/ invigilators, impersonation, possession of mobile phone, electronic communication devices, uploading of questions/confidential materials in social media, their candidature shall be cancelled and they shall be debarred from appearing in the Higher Secondary Examination for two consecutive years, it stated.
It also stated that any person found involved in conducting any unfair means concerning the examination such as carrying books inside the examination hall, question papers in and around the examination centres as well as uploading of questions/confidential materials on social media shall be reported to the higher authority for initiation of proper action as deem fit.
