Bomb attack at MLA S Kebi’s house

“We are all humans and misunderstandings can be solved without bombs.”

Bike-borne miscreants hurled and exploded a bomb at the gate of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituency MLA Soraisam Kebi’s residence at Ningthemcha Karong under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West at 8.23 pm on Thursday. There were no casualties, sources said. 

As per ground reports, two youths on a motorcycle hurled the bomb after lighting its fuse. However, except for a few holes on the ground, the blast did not cause any major damages.

Immediately on receiving information, SP Imphal West S Ibomcha along with a team of Singjamei Police Station rushed to the spot and inspected the site.

“It is extremely outrageous and upsetting that such a blast occurred at the gate of my residence amid the prevailing unrest in the state,” said MLA S Kebi to the media. 

Any case of misunderstanding can be resolved through negotiation and dialogue instead of resorting to such barbaric attacks, she expressed.

She further appealed to those behind the incident to not repeat such activities anywhere in the future. 

“We are all humans and misunderstandings can be solved without bombs,” she asserted.
