The deceased has been identified as one 58-year-old Khangembam Akajao Meitei from Kakmayai Mayai Leikai in Thoubal district, the sources said.

The body was claimed by the family soon after it was fished out from the river. Akajao had been missing since July 15, and his family had been searching for him since, according to the sources.
