Beneficiaries demand effective implementation of development schemes in Manipur

Beneficiaries of Central government schemes in Imphal East and Imphal West districts have appealed to Union minister Nisith Pramanik to take initiative for effective implementation of developmental schemes in the state.

The beneficiaries raised their demand during an interaction with Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nisith Pramanik, which at a function held as a part of the 75 years of Indian Independence celebration, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, on Saturday.

"A discussion will be held with each and every stakeholder to bring development in every sector of the state," Pramanik said, while addressing the gathering of beneficiaries at the Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal.

As many as 125 beneficies of PMAY, PM Kishan Samman Nidhi, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Poshan Abhiyan, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, JJM, PM Mudra Yojana, PM Gareeb Kalyan Yojana, Ayushman PM Jan Arogya Yojana attended the interaction programme.

The minister also said he felt proud of being here in Manipur, a precious land which has produced several talented sportspersons like Mirabai Chanu. "The people of Manipur are patriotic and they feel proud of being an Indian," he said.

Pramanik further said with the launch of Jal Jeevan Mission, the problem of shortage of drinking water in the state has been tackled to a large extent and has benefitted a large number of households in the state.

Also, with the launch of Ayushman Bharat Yojana, healthcare system has been improving at a faster pace, he added.

The interaction programme was organised by the district administration of Imphal East and Imphal West.

As many as 125 beneficiaries from Imphal East and Imphal West participated in the interaction programme. Principal Secretary (Sports) SSShaabra and Deputy Commissioner Khumanthem Diana also attended the interaction programme.
