Bakuwa village declared to extend support to intending BJP candidate, retired DFO Huri Golmei in the forthcoming state general election in Tamenglong ST/assembly constituency on Saturday.
The declaration was made during the campaign held at Bakuwa Village under Noney district.
Huri Golmei, an active BJP state executive member expressed his satisfaction to all the villagers of Bakuwa village for their declaration to extend support to him and to all the well wishers who were coming from different places attending the programme.
He mentioned that his manifesto is to focus on women empowerment, alternative arrangements of Shifting cultivation, especially for Tamenglong and Noney district, education sector, medical, transportation and connectivity.
Moreover he mentioned that a true leader who can lead the people and know the grievances for the society is very much required for Tamenglong 53-assembly constituency.
Declaration document in favour of Huri Golmei was handed over to Huri Golmei by Bakuwa Village authority chairman Kadijuan Balangkasing during the programme.
According to the declaration statement, of 52 households in Bakuwa Village, the active voters of 40 households with support of Village Authority chairman and secretary along with all village authority members, Village Customary court and his members, Youth Club president and secretary along with all the youth members consent to support Huri Golmei.
As part of the programme, biodegradable hand bags were distributed to the villagers of Bakuwa villagers and arm-chairs were also donated for Bakuwa Village Authority by Huri Golmei.
Prominent political leaders and supporters, well wishers, special dignitaries including BJP Tamenglong district in charge Th Yumjao Singh; state BJP member H Nando Singh along with ADC member Akhui Segment Shanthuiyang; ADC member Awangkhul Segment Kaniangmei Riamei and intending ADC Tml segment Lungsangai attended the programme.
Moreover, the programme was attended by Bakuwa Village Authority leaders, Youth Wings, Women Society and also senior politicians, social workers, well wisher, Village Authority leaders from surrounding areas of Haochong and Awangkhul Segment.
