The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) on Tuesday appealed to the general public to pay homage to the martyred cadres of the organisation on ‘Athoubasing gi Ningsing Numit’ which falls on Friday.
A release signed by publicity and propaganda LeibaakNgaakpa Luwang appealed to the people of the state to not carry out any form of celebrations or festivities, instead lit candles at their doorsteps, with respect to the martyred souls.
Recalling the order of October 29 released by State Home department appealing various militants and insurgency parties to come to terms in order to maintain peaceful development and normalcy in the state, the party accused the Home department for distorting and misleading the masses by implying the party’s activities as a hindrance to the development of the state.
Recalling that the merger agreement of Manipur and India of September 21, 1949 was as an annexation, the party asserted that the agreement had been considered as invalid and cannot be validated by the Indian Independence Act, 1947; Independent Manipur Constitution Act, 1947; and Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, 1969.
It stated that despite the reports of numerous deaths and injuries of paramilitaries due to maoist movements in other states, the Indian government refrained from giving similar treatment of Manipur by sending military forces and imposing AFSPA-1958. The organisation further accused the Indian Government for being biased to its states.
Condemning the Indian government for entitling the insurgency parties as ‘Misguided Youths’ with implication of the revolutionary activities as disturbance to the peace of the state, the party assured that the parties’ objective and activities are for the independence of the state from the Indian governance and the ultimate peace of the state. Accusing the Indian government for inciting communal division, it asserted that the different communities of the state maintained cooperation and harmony prior to the influence of India.
Stating that the Indian government is biased towards militants with communal agendas, the release added that the Indian government supports and maintains the existence of militants so as to sustain the funds and revenue.
Appealing to the people to refrain from conforming to the imposition of the Indian government, the organisation assured the hesitant people that the state has nothing to lose except dependence, after separation from India, it added.
