AMWJU condemns MUSU

All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) on Friday condemned the Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU) president for obstructing the journalists from covering the students’ protest at Manipur University campus, Canchipur, Imphal West.

In release, AMWJU condemned MUSU president Sanasam Steven for obstructing the journalists who were covering the protests taken up by MU students in the university campus.

“It is a journalist’s duty to cover an event and publish it as news, and the journalists have the right to decide whether the news should be published or not. MUSU does not have the right to determine if the journalists should or should not publish the news item,” AMWJU stated.

AMWJU further appealed to all sections not to obstruct the journalists from carrying out their duties.
