Amit Shah to visit Manipur on April 14

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Manipur on April 14 to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

The Union Home minister, the star campaigner of the BJP, will address a public rally at Hapta Kangjeibung, Palace Compound in Imphal.

The BJP has fielded state Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh in Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency. 

It may be mentioned that the BJP will not be contesting from the Outer Manipur LS seat and has decided to support Naga Peoples Front (NPF) candidate Kachui Timothy Zimik. The NPF, an ally of the BJP both at the Centre and the state level, had also expressed its intention of supporting the BJP candidate in the Inner Manipur seat while announcing Timothy Zimik’s name.

Manipur will go to polls in two phases. While polling for the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat will take place on April 19, voting for the Outer Manipur LS seat will be held on April 26. Counting of votes will be held on June 4.
