AMCO bids adieu to outgoing executives, installs new members

The election of the new office bearers was held during a general body meeting cum election of the new office bearers at the Kuki Baptist Convention Centre, New Lambulane, Imphal on August 4.

With the election of new office bearers of the All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) held on August 4, the farewell of the outgoing executives and the installation of the new executives was held on Tuesday at Mao-Poumai Baptist Church, Langol in Imphal West.

Church leaders from various denominations, both of the hills and valleys, were present and the blessing minister of the event was Senior Pastor Johny Shimray of SDA, said a release.

It said that the election of the new office bearers was held during a general body meeting cum election of the new office bearers at the Kuki Baptist Convention Centre, New Lambulane, Imphal on August 4.

Rev L Simon Raomai was elected the president, Rev Hillary Langhu and Rev Rajkumar Lukhoisana as vice-presidents, Rev Fr Albert Leivon as general secretary, Rev L Manga and Rev Oinam Livingson as joint secretaries, Pr Jenising as finance secretary, Rev Lunkhosei Haokip as treasure and Rev Zuankamang Daimai as information and publicity secretary, the release informed.

It said that the general assembly was attended by leaders of various Christian denominations and Rev Timothy Phaomei, who is the chairman of Love Manipur, led the devotion and pronounced the invocation prayer.

Rev Prim Vaiphei, who is the outgoing president, set the tone of the gathering by greeting and welcoming the new members present and gave the detail report of the ministry of AMCO under his leadership for 15 years, the press release said, adding that Rev Prim Vaiphei was the longest serving president of AMCO from 2007-2022.

Stating that the general election was officially presided by Rev Dr Lalpi, who is the president of Tribal Churches Leadership Forum, it said that the election also appointed nine new members of the advisory board.
