The Alternative Supply Chain-cum-transportation of essential commodities to Churachandpur district has been taken up through Silchar and Aizawl as the supply chain from Imphal-Dimapur is broken.

It may be mentioned that transportation of Essential Commodities from Imphal to Churachandpur with the coordination of Army, CAPF and Assam Rifles is also planned from August 28, 2023.

Issues faced during transportation include unwillingness of transportation operators to operate between Imphal to Churachandpur and other security issues like law-and-order issues in the inter district boundary which hamper smooth movement of essential commodities.
