After an incensed mob ransacked advocate Ch Victor brother’s house located at Khonghampat, the local clubs and Meira Paibis of the village sat together with the advocate on Saturday evening and resolved the misunderstanding between them.

“Advocate Ch Victor was not involved directly in the case of professor Kham Khan Suan Hausing,” Kh Kalachanbi, advisor of Coordinating Committee on Present Situation in Manipur, Khonghampat said.

Kh Kalachanbi told the media that advocate Ch Victor brother’s house was ransacked by a mob due to a misunderstanding among the people and that advocate was out of station since five days ago.

The people of Khonghampat Awang Leikai had gathered at the advocate’s house to pressure him to withdraw from the case and waited for a clarification from another advocate S Chittaranjan.

And, while the locals were waiting to talk with advocate Victor, a section of the mob stormed his brother’s house and ransacked it at night, Kalachanbi said.

After the incident, the locals mounted pressure on advocate Victor to come back today for his clarification. Then, the advocate reached on Saturday itself and held a meeting with Meira Paibis and local club members at Senjam Chirang and resolved the misunderstanding, Kalachanbi said.

It has been noted that advocate Anand Grover has been handling the case of Kham Khan Saun Hausing who is based in Hyderabad. In connection with a case involving his client (Kham Khan Suan Hausing), Advocate Anand Grover was instructed by the Supreme Court to go to the High Court of Manipur and seek legal help.

Kalachanbi said that advocate Victor assured them that he would not do anything against the interest of the community.
