Veteran Manipur politician and current Advisor to CM Ngamthang Haokip expressed his confidence in getting the BJP ticket to contest the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022.
He stated this during an event held on Monday at General Thangal Ecological Park, Mayangkhang announcing to contest the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022.
Education, Fishery and CADA Minister S Rajen, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Tourism Minister O Lukhoi and Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo also attended the function.
Apart from the dignitaries, around 2,000 supporters and voters of the BJP intending candidate Ngamthang Haokip across Saitu AC, including chiefs of more than 150 villages and former elected members of ADC Sadar Hills also attended the function.
During the felicitation program, the three best polling stations during the by-election 2020 were felicitated apart from a few others who were given the consolation incentive.
Khoken Polling Station, Mayangkhang Polling Station, and T Khullen Polling Station declared the first, second and third best polling stations were awarded an incentive of Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2 lakh, and Rs1 lakh respectively while Mayangkhang Khunou Polling Station and Veitum Khullen Polling Station were given consolation prizes of Rs 50,000/- each.
Rev PY Majulong, Pastor Mayangkhang Baptist Church, who attended the function as administrator invoked blessing prayer for the intending candidate after the declaration of Ngamthang Haokip as the intending candidate during the function.
The 69-year-old veteran politician said he along with his workers had decided to join the running BJP government for the people and development citing the importance of party in politics.
As the election wave has started storming in the constituency, many people are talking blindly about who is getting the BJP which is definitely forming the government. “I am 100 pc confident of getting the BJP ticket” asserted the Ngamthang Haokip.
Ngamthang maintained that he is not a man of lip service but a man of work. “I cannot do sweet talk to tempt people but I cannot work the whole day and whole night for the welfare and development of my people”, he said.
Education Minister S Rajen while addressing the huge gathering said that there is no reason as to why Ngamthang Haokip should not be given the party ticket considering his vast contribution towards the party stability in the state and welfare of the state and the nation as a whole.
The minister also said that as per the survey report, the BJP will be getting at least 32 seats from the valley, and considering the people’s support from the hills, it will comfortably form the government again with an absolute majority.
He continued that around 1.34 lakhs have been provided for the renovation of the election-oriented road in Saitu AC.
Agriculture Minister O Lukhai opined that it is vital for the people of Saitu AC to vote into power a politician like Ngamthang Haokip who has a vision for peaceful development and cordial relations among the people.
