The Mao Imphal Business Union (MIBU) and Mao Imphal Market Coordination Committee (MIMCC) celebrated Advent Christmas at the Mao Keithel Temporary Shed at Kabo Leikai in Imphal on Tuesday.
Commemorating the brotherhood bonds between the people of hills and valley during the festival, a cake cutting event was held while the villagers of Mao presented Gospel songs.
Gifts were also presented to individuals who gave immense support in the formation of the coordinating committee, as a token of appreciation.
Speaking on the occasion, MIBU president Kapeini, extended gratitude to the people of valley for their support in the eight years struggle of establishing Mao Market in Imphal. She also lauded the chief minister for his contribution in lifting the status of the market in this present condition.
Convenor of the coordinating committee, Khuraijam Athouba, said that the Mao Keithel, established in 2015, is a symbol of integrity between the people of hills and valley.
As many as 200 individuals from Mao and 100 from different areas of the valley joined Tuesday's Advent Christmas.
